Amsterdam, day one, part two

Brigham, enjoying his waffle and the tulips.  I'm sure you are dying to hear about the stroop waffles in Holland.  Well, they are no Belgium waffles, but they are still delicious.  They are super thin, (somehow cut in half) with a syrup in the middle - that is super gooey and hardens a bit when it cools.  They were good, but I don't long for them.  :)
The next few pictures are from the orchid show.  Did you know that it takes 5 years for an orchid to mature to the point that it blooms? Yeah - me neither.  That fact made them even more beautiful to me.

A double stroller with the footprint of a single stroller!

Bluebells, with a white tip are called "Touch of Snow"!  So pretty.
There was a little petting zoo in the middle of the park.  The boys enjoyed the break from the flowers (even though they thoroughly enjoyed the flowers).

There was a woman teaching a class about how to arrange cut flowers.  She was in the gerbera daisy show (building with a bunch of gerbera daisies in it).

These were the creepiest tulips I've seen, still pretty though.

The rest of the pictures were after we left Keukenhof.  These were just tulip fields that we were driving by after we checked into the hotel and were headed to the Park and Ride so we could get to downtown Amsterdam.  Gorgeous little commute, right?

The boys, outside of the Van Gogh museum (on the left) and the Rijksmuseum (on the right).
We neglected to get any pictures, but we had a lovely picnic on a little grassy rooftop thing.  We did Amsterdam on the cheap for sure.  It was a perfect (ham and cheese sandwiches, pringles, carrot balls, Kit Kat) dinner before the museum.  The boys were really good at the Van Gogh museum, but we happened to be there on their event night, which was a local band on the first floor of the museum. It was loud and a bit random, with lots of alcohol.  It was eye-opening, but then again, so was all of the art on the fourth floor!  It sure made me a bit more relaxed with my kids though (not the alcohol, the noise).  I didn't feel the need to keep them as quiet as I would have, as it wasn't a very meditative place that night anyway.
The boys, on the tram ride back to the hotel.
Day 2: coming soon!
