Turkey

Josh and I were able to get away for our 9th anniversary while Maddie was with our boys.  We hopped a flight to Antalya, Turkey.  It was beautiful, peaceful, and nice to be with my honey for awhile.  We didn't do much sightseeing, as we stayed at a fantastic inclusive resort.  But we saw lots of the Mediterranean, lots of the warm sunshine, and lots of European skin (if you get my drift).

 The beach was pretty rocky, but there were boardwalks that we eventually realized we should use to get into the warm water, which was the perfect temperature and so fun to swim in.

 We did head to Antalya for one day. We saw some minarets, mosques, and lots of souvenir shops.  

 This little eatery had a whole bunch of umbrellas hanging above it.  It was really pretty.

 Here is Hadrian's gate, which dates back to 130.  The year.  Crazy.

 I even found Wall-e while we were there.

 Josh with our rug man, Chan.  We never intended to buy a Turkish rug, but he called me Miss America so many times that he talked me into it.  ha.

 The city was really beautiful, with so many makeshift beaches along the water.  These ones were like floating pallets.  It was awesome.

 We took a boat ride to kill some time before we had to be at the airport.  We almost killed too much time on this boat ride, but it all worked out.  And we got to see some beautiful parts of Antalya that we wouldn't have gotten to see otherwise.

 It was nice to be out on the water.  For someone who doesn't swim very well, I sure do love the water.

Turkey was good to us.  We had a wonderful time seeing a part of the world that we hadn't seen before.  We even got to enjoy first class seats and lounges on our red-eye flight back to Frankfurt.  More on that when I can get Josh to help me find those pictures.  It was incredible.
